When initiating granting programs, we look for leaders and innovators in the non-profit sector that have the potential to create lasting social change. In particular, we value the following attributes:
-
Direct and Lasting Impact: We want to improve the economic and social opportunities of Ontario's disadvantaged people in ways that can be sustained beyond the life of a grant.
-
Innovation: We are interested in projects that challenge current attitudes, policies and approaches, and that attempt to address the systemic reasons for economic and social injustice.
-
Capacity Building: We want organizations that we fund to develop the tools and skills necessary to carry on their work more effectively and sustainably.
-
Community Education: We value civic participation and encourage projects that engage citizens within the broader community.
-
Policy Change: We value projects that generate ideas and results that change the public policy landscape.
- Collaboration: We value projects that promote collaboration among stakeholders and that leverage existing resources.
