What COVID Reveals

On Labour Day, I shared with you the news that Atkinson Fellow in Public Policy Stephanie Nolen’s series, What COVID Reveals, had been published a month earlier by the Toronto Star. The response was positively overwhelming! I received many requests for a bundled version to share Stephanie’s reporting more widely.

That’s why I want you to be first to receive the series as a downloadable PDF document. We hope you will do three things with this publication:

  • Read it. These stories are deeply researched, beautifully written, and provide new insights with each reading. They deserve to be read more than once.
  • Share it with your networks. The series landed mid-summer and may have been missed by some who would value it. We’ve heard some people have ‘cut and paste’ the articles into teaching and advocacy tools. This version is easier to read, share and use.
  • Decide to act. The series mentions several organizations, groups and networks that advocate for pragmatic policy changes whose time has come: a national child care system, permanent status for migrant workers, paid sick days, and more. If you’re already actively engaged in the movement for decent work and fair economy, we’re grateful for your leadership. If you’re inspired by these stories, we hope you’ll get connected and get behind grassroots efforts to “build back better.”

I’d love to hear what you think of the series and how you’re using it. Please drop me a line when you have a minute to spare. Thank you for your continued interest in the Atkinson Foundation and our partners.
