The COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis have put the spotlight on essential workers. In particular, migrant agricultural and care workers have have been speaking out about their lives, workplaces, and health and fighting for their rights.

That’s why we were excited to see Chatelaine name Sonia Aviles as one of their 2020 Women of the Year. Sonia is an organizer with the Migrant Workers Alliance for Change (MWAC) in Niagara.
