Stabilization Fund for Nonprofits Needed

Nonprofits play a critical role in providing services across our province – they run summer camps, museums, shelters, immigrant services, community health centres, food banks, and nonprofit housing. They’ve also been on the frontlines in the fight to flatten the curve of COVID-19.

The sector’s revenue streams have taken a major hit, however,  and  many of Ontario’s nonprofits and charities face imminent closure.

The Ontario Nonprofit Network has proposed a $680 million Stabilization Fund to support the province’s nonprofit sector through economic losses created by COVID-19. This Fund could be the difference between losing valuable nonprofit infrastructure and ensuring that nonprofits and charities can help rebuild the economy and communities.
