Every three years, the Atkinson Centre  produces the Early Childhood Education Report. Their 2020 report couldn’t come at a a more critical time, as the federal government prepares to negotiate with provinces and territories on a massive investment in ECEC services as part of the implementation of the 2021 federal budget.

The 2020 Early Childhood Education Report details the the state of the sector and provincial and territorial frameworks for early childhood education and care (ECEC) services across Canada. It also details where historic funding can strengthen the system, stating “as we move toward a post-pandemic recovery, quality and equity must dominate regional and national early year’s plans.”
