The COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis in Canada has disproportionately impacted women, especially those who are low income and experience intersecting inequalities based on race, gender identity, class, disability, and immigration status.
ACORN Canada members have drafted a submission that proposes policies to address this impact, for the federal government’s new Task Force on Women in the Economy. In particular, they are calling on the government to crack down on predatory lending, expand internet access, and ensure affordable housing.
