From the Frontlines

Throughout the pandemic, workers on the frontlines kept society fed, cared for, clean, and connected. And while they were celebrated by many, they have also been often  earning low wages in unsafe working conditions without paid sick days, health benefits, and even the full protection of Ontario’s Employment Standards Act.

From the Frontlines: An urgent agenda for decent work is a new report from the Workers’ Action Centre. In the report, workers on the frontlines share their experiences and outline their demands to make work safer and more decent. Their recommendations include:

  • A $20 per hour minimum wage
  • 10 permanent, employer-paid sick days
  • Equal pay for equal work
  • End misclassification and exemptions
  • Just cause protection
  • Status for all
