International Students Need Support

The COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis have had devastating effects on many workers and students. And while benefits have been put in place for many people, others including international students have been excluded. Additionally, they are paying high tuition fees, face restrictions on working, and are seeing their work permits expire.

Through the Migrant Workers Alliance for Change, international students are organizing to fix this system, calling on the federal government to:

  1. Make work permits renewable
  2. Improve access to permanent residency
  3. Unite families through giving them access to work permits
  4. Status for all
  5. And lower tuition fees and universal services.

They’re holding a rally on October 25th – event details here. You can also sign their petition.
