Although the COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis  continue to impact workers and their families, income support benefits have started to run out. 58 organizations across Canada, including the Atkinson Foundation, have joined in an open letter to the federal Ministers and Members of Parliament to take fast action when Parliament resumes on November 22. Together, we are calling on the federal government to immediately:

1. Extend the Canada Recovery Benefit retroactively from October 23, while the recovery remains underway
2. Take action on permanent reforms to Employment Insurance to improve access and benefit rates, and ensure the federal government contributes annually to the fund
