What Ontario’s Child Care Deal means for ECEs

On March 28, 2022, the Ontario government and the federal government announced a deal to bring Ontario into the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement.

The Atkinson Centre for Social and Child Development’s Emis Akbari and Kerry McCuaig examine this new deal in a new article for the Conversation, “What Ontario parents really need to know about the new early learning and child care agreement.” They look at what it means for early childcare educators, their access to decent work and pay, and how Ontario’s deal compares to other provinces and territories.
