The economic crisis associated with COVID-19 has not had equal impacts. Dubbed the ‘she-cession’ by Armine Yalnizyan, women have borne the impacts of both job losses and increased care work for children and people battling the disease. This crisis has been particularly severe for low-income and racialized women.

To respond to this situation, the Equal Pay Coalition and Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women are hosting a series of strategy and mobilizing webinars RISING TOGETHER: Women for a Just Economy. The themes of conversation are scheduled as:

• The Care Economy: Wednesday August 12th at 7:00pm.
• Decolonizing the Economy: Wednesday September 16th at 7:00pm.
• Anti-oppression and the green economy: Wednesday October 14th at 7:00pm.
• Integrating Core Principles of a Feminist Economy: Wednesday November 4th at 7:00pm.
• Mobilizing for Action and a Just Economy: Wednesday November 18th at 7:00pm.
