Dr. Pam Sugiman has long been an advocate, personally and professionally, of social justice, diversity and equity, and democratic engagement. Much of her research highlights the oral history narratives and personal memories of working-class people in Canada. Pam has served on the Status of Women Canada External Committee to the Policy Research Fund and the Executive Board of the National Association of Japanese Canadians. She also currently serves on the Board of Pathways to Education Canada. Most recently, Pam was the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Toronto.
