Selena comes to Atkinson from the Future Skills Centre where she was Director, Strategic Initiatives. Previously, she was Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships at the Canadian Urban Institute, Manager of Strategic Initiatives at United Way Greater Toronto, and Manager of Programs and Research at the University of Toronto’s Institute on Municipal Finance and Governance.

Earlier in her career, Selena provided support to Ontario’s migrant workers in Canada’s agricultural sector, worked for the Cape Town local government on the impact of their urban agriculture policy on low-income families, and ran a youth-led international development charity operating in four countries around the world.

Selena holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Toronto and Bachelor of Arts in Global Development Studies from Queen’s University. She was named a CivicAction DiverseCity Fellow in 2017.
